Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is FixCity?

FixCity is a multi-city civic infrastructure issue reporting and tracking platform. Citizens report potholes, water leaks, garbage, and more — then track resolution status publicly.

Is FixCity free to use?

Yes. Reporting, tracking, voting, and viewing civic data is free for all registered users.

Reporting

How do I report an issue?

Tap Report, take a photo, confirm the GPS location, pick a category, and submit. Quick reports take under 30 seconds.

Can I report anonymously?

Quick reports can be submitted without an account using a device token. Create an account to track all your reports in one place.

What happens after I submit?

Reports enter a moderation queue for review. Once approved, they appear on the public map and feed for the community to upvote and share.

Moderation

Why was my report rejected?

Moderators may reject reports that are not genuine civic issues, contain inappropriate content, or violate our Terms. You will see the rejection reason in My Issues.

How long does review take?

Most reports are reviewed within 24–48 hours. High-volume periods may take slightly longer.

Accountability

What is the MLA/MLC accountability chart?

For cities with ward data (e.g. Bengaluru), we map issues to wards and elected representatives. The Analytics page shows open issue counts by MLA and MLC to highlight unresolved civic problems in their constituencies.

Does this guarantee officials will act?

No. The data creates public pressure and a permanent record. Resolution depends on municipal authorities and elected representatives.

Content Flagging

How do I report inappropriate or misleading content?

On any approved issue, use the Flag button to report inappropriate images, inappropriate text, or misleading content. Moderators review all flags.

Can I flag a comment or photo?

Yes. Each comment and media item has its own flag option on the issue detail page.

What happens to false flags?

Submitting malicious or repeated false flags may result in account restrictions. See our Terms & Conditions for details.
